Klean-Strip paint thinner is what I'd use. I'm impressed with that stuff. There was the A/C tech over at my house here about a week ago. I was helping him work and somehow got their duct sealant on my hands and on the shirt tail of my shirt I was wearing.

The guy said it wouldn't come off. I go into my flammable storage area and grab the bottle of Klean-Strip. I poured some on a folded paper towel and proceed to wipe the duct sealant out of my shirt. It takes it right out!! It breaks down latex duct sealant!! I couldn't believe it. I then wiped the stuff off my hands and arms too.

I tried to get a direct link for you, but their site won't let me get a direct link to the page; just the home page.

I got it at Walmart in the paint section. It comes in a square'ish plastic clear bottle. The actual color of the solvent is kind of like apple juice. This is not the white stuff you'll see sitting next to it ... and it's not the low odor one either; so don't get those. It's the regular mineral spirits paint thinner. Good stuff.

I had to reread your thread. The first time around, I got REALLY scared b/c I thought you meant the Klean Strip paint stripper instead of the thinner. In either case, read the MSDS before you decide to wipe that stuff on your skin - I'm sure that stuff is somewhat toxic as well.

Look under bulk fuel/oil dealers in your phone book and call them... But Remember that in a lot of states now any solvent with a vp under 140 is considered hazardous waste when used!

I agree with the statement regarding the Northern WATER based 'solvent', a complete and utter WASTE of money.

Ask for VARSOL, I do not know if it is still made, but that is/was the trade name for parts washer solvent.

Varsol = Stoddard Solvent and those are just names for odorless mineral spirits. It's just different names for the same stuff.

Yeah $500 for 55 gal barrel. You can get it in 5 gal pails though. Lowe's and Home Deport have it actually.

Check tractor supply for " pcs 1000". It has a flash point above 141. Cost is about $40 for 5 gallons.
