Lets talk walk-behind floor scrubbers

There are LOTS on the market I see. Who's used what? Has anybody used any of the cheaper plug-in floor scrubbers? I'm considering buying one for my automotive repair shop, now that we have a nice floor coated in ArmorPoxy. Not looking to spend anymore than $1500 tops, would prefer to spend under $1k (found a nice, smaller Advance unit a few years ago for $800 on craigslist, it's worked well so far for him).

I used to rent one regularly for spring cleaning but thought it would be nice to have permanently. It is. I just mix in some purple degreaser, I do not use anything special for soap.

I've considered one, or rather a propane powered floor buffer, only because I've seen them as cheap as $100 used with less than 200 hours. One I saw at that price looked like new and had a Kawasaki V twin engine, all for $100. I suspect that you're interested in something that has water, scrubs and has a vacuum?

My son works for Sunbelt Rentals and their store only caters to the janitorial industry. So it might be worth a call to Sunbelt to chat about what machine may work best for you, rent to try out the model or buy a used one.

dontlifttoshift, how do you like the corded unit? Do you ever find yourself getting tangled up in the cord, or it being a hassle to keep it clean or keep it out of the way when you're cleaning?

Well, I found a corded unit on OfferUp for $400, gonna go pick it up this weekend. For $400, it'll serve as a 'test' unit and let us know what we do or don't like about the layout of the machine, size, corded vs cordless etc.

I did it! I bought one. Picked this sucker up for $400. Got it back to the shop and gave it a quick test run and it seems to work great.
