Let's try this again...What is it?

It appears to be a table, or a desk perhaps. It is used to place items upon - much as is being done in the pictures.

Apparently I wasn't specific enough for some people or maybe someone is just not intellegent enough to give the correct answer. This obviously is a clamp sitting on a workbench. It appears to be a clamp used for a specific purpose. Who has or has used one of these with the slots in them?

Although I do not know what the clamp was used for, I can say from my experience with stamped sheet metal c-clamps that this is designed for light duty. The gap in the frame at the screw reveals a very low strength, and the handle for the screw is designed to be tightened by hand.

I believe that this clamp was designed to do more than one thing. The "wings" that are holding it upright in the photos appear to be designed to do just that. Because the hooks point up when standing up as photographed, it appears that they support something when the tool is clamped to a horizontal member. The size of the clamp implies that it is designed to mount to 2x lumber the short way.

It has the look of a took involved with wood building construction.

It does look like you would move it around and not permanently mount it. The hooks in the back look like some kind of bungy tie down or strap was used to secure temporarily it.

Is there anything stamped in in the way of text or symbols?

Possibly used to hold a tube patch in position while the adhesive dries.

I have one of similar design that is used for an old table top ironing board.
Clamped on to a table, the notches in the back were for an adjustable sleeve board that popped up from the middle of the board.

I have seen that head design somewhere, just cannot recall right now.

I did spend a bit of brain time trying to figure out the flush mounted license plate blue towel dispenser.

What does it look like when clamped to a table with the spindle handle facing down? Im guessing that its a clamp to hold another device onto a table top. Im just unsure of what device. Its obviously going to be a rather light duty

A picture of that might jog a few more memories.

It looks like its upside down in the pic. I assume it was designed to hang off a table or a rack of some kind.

Looks like a very old ladder clamp...The slots are for mounting it on the ladder??
