We just installed a 16 x 10 EZ-Fit Riverside shed kit using their 4 x 4 floor kit on top of concrete blocks on top of gravel inside holes that we dug. There are 20 holes and each of the 16' 4 x 4's is supported in 5 places. Roofing shingles were used as instructed for shims to take up any small gaps between the concrete block and the 4 x 4. We checked level at every point and I was pretty confident that everything was level when we commenced assembling the shed kit. Apparently, that wasn't the case.
As I was installing the roof sheathing at the front right corner. the supplied plywood pieces didn't line up square. The customer support guy at Alpine Structures said that was likely because the floor wasn't level somewhere and to take a floor jack on each of the corners and check the fit of the roof sheathing. It turned out that the front corner sheathing would line up if I jacked up the front right corner 1-2 inches. After we finished everything, I notice that the doors stick in their openings but don't stick if I jack up the front right corner.
I'd like to jack it up and level it once and for all but I'm looking for suggestions for something that I could use for a shim in the 3 front points that could be variable in terms of height and would last several years in place. More roofing shingles slid under each point would be ideal but I'm not sure that 12-16 shingles stacked on top of each other would last.
