LG or Daikin in Mini Split

I am about to pull the trigger on a 24,000 btu mini split for my shop. I have it narrowed down to either a LG- 21.5 seer or a Daikin- 18 seer. They are within $100 of each other and the Daikin has a 10 year warranty compared to the LG's 7 year warranty. I was hoping to get some feedback on these to units. Should I go for a higher seer or the little bit longer warranty?

+1 for daikin.
A much better quality machine.
LG. stands for "Lucky it Goes"

This is the case in Australia assume it's the same there.

Get the Daikin .. Mitsubishi/ Fujitsu/ Daikin are top tier ... My 9k LG art cool is 10 years old .. by all accounts ... I'm lucky. LG has evidently redesigned the line .. so, I'm sure continual improvement. It was not the outside units that had problems -- LG had board problems and inside leaking coils

Daikin is the answer. I've had a multi head system from them for several years with zero issues. My BIL is in the commercial/industrial HVAC biz. - his comment was Daikin has thousands in use around the world and reliability is great. Support is available from them if needed, as well as a great warranty.

I've heard good things about Daikin, but no personal experience.

The best advice I could give is pick whichever brand has the best service staff. Lots of people are good at selling things - not so many are good at listening to customer problems and fixing them. You want the company who's gonna be there when you have issues.

I've had both. The Daiken first, which was fine until the external board was fried in a power hit.

Then the LG Art Cool was installed, and after 5 or so years, it's been fine.

For me, both worked perfectly well until one got hit by a lightning strike.

My BIL is basically a HVAC guy on steroids (has a masters from MIT in whatever super fancy term those guys use for HVAC) and designs installations for museums and such around the world and said Daikin is the best there is.

My 2-head unit hasn’t missed a beat in 2 years and it uses almost no electricity.

I bought a Daikin RXS09L heat pump from United Refrigeration for a bedroom and installed it myself. I registered it online and got a 12 year warranty.

Never installed a Daikin in the commercial world. Mitsubishi only. That’s what all the small Tel/data rooms get. The big ones get Lieberts.

My last one was a Mitsubishi, the next one will be one too.
