life time supply

I went to an auction from a long closed down shop. It looked like many tool trucks had threw up into 5 gallon buckets. They auctioned off one bucket as a lot. 5 gallon of sockets, 5 gallon of ratchets and so on, Prices went high. After each lot the auctioneer would say any one else want a bucket for what ever the high bid was. Well after hours of buckets they were getting down to my price. So when the high bid got down to 25.00 per bucket I jumped in. I got a bucket of mostly Petersen's vice grips, a bucket of channel lock pliers and a bucket of adjustable wrenches. I think I have a life time supply of these.

I give suckage on the vise grips and channellocks. I think you have 10 lifetime supplies of adjustable wrenches.

Wowsa, those are bucket scores indeed at $25 a pop !!

Depending on number of vehicles you have, and various tool boxes scattered around various buildings, I think that's about right amount of those three important tools !!! :D

Only thing you're missing is bucket of flat-head screwdrivers . . . .
. . . . AND . . . a bucket of philips screwdrivers !!! :bounce:

Oh yeah . . . . . triple benefit of YOU **** !!!

Those channel locks are looking like the best buy to me! There's not too much duplication there, and you really can't have too many pairs of pliers! Even if some of them are really worn, you always need old pliers for stuff! Bet they will clean up really well!

Years ago I bought an engineers tool chest and contents for £60! Well worth it, but when I collected it there were five 'buckets' of stuff thrown in! It looked mostly like old lathe tools, but as I worked my way down the buckets there were twist drills, taps, dies, tap wrenches, die stocks and all manner of stuff, all decent British makes too! That stuff formed the basis of my own engineers tool collection, and even now if I need a bit of tool steel I've got loads to choose from!

Everybody deserves a 'you ****' kind of deal once in a while!

Normally, I'm opposed to threads that could just be a post in the "Garage Sale Thread 201X", but I must say, this one is OK. I mean, who isn't jealous of that haul? I'll even chime in with a...

Well done!

Though I gotta know, was that $25 + auction fee + sales tax + credit card swipe fee?

That's why I never go to an auction without a bunch of cash. Damn credit card fees can be outright ridiculous

It was in Wenatchee, Washington. Only paid sales tax on top of my bid price. Paid cash, don't know if they charged extra for credit card payment. I didn't hear any thing about it at least. This is the first I have ever heard about a card fee. I was going to post this in the yard sale area. But I felt it deserved its own write up. Thank you for the *****.

First thing I would clean up some up the extras and easily get your $$ back and be left with free tools basically

Orange Home depot buckets. I didn't see any vices. But hundreds of buckets went for big bucks. Just think about how many snap on ratchets you could put into a 5 gallon bucket. Big Bucks . I got my buckets at next to the end of the auction. A lot of people were already leaving. They got down to buckets of scrap iron at 5.00 per bucket. My poor old car was really down in the rear. No more truck to haul tools home in. All six vidmar cabinets went crazy high. Well over 100.00 per drawer. I would of rented a U-Haul to get the cabinets home if I had won any of them. All in all I am happy with what I got. Always wish you got more. And the answer to getting more is to bid more, I know... But I also have a budget for my garage purchases.

I tossed in my scrap bin the china made and broken stuff. The buckets were full. But like most shops there was a lot of different brands. I think I even saw a "Mac" adj. wrench in the bunch. No not in my junk pile, In my keep pile. Just to keep every thing straight.

Can't have enough Vise Grips in my world! I myself have probably 35 and wish I had more!

Obviously a body man. Last time I saw that many vise grips in one place, it was a body man's toolbox.

And Richard, if you like someones first post, here's another first for you. My first "You ****"

All excellent deals and all I would have jumped on. As a reseller, there is a lot of money to be made in them buckets.
