Hi Folks,

I'm in the process of having a pole barn put up which should be completed this week with the cement being poured next week. The building is 42x60 with 14x14 doors on each end and an 8 foot door on one side. I had originally decided on a Mohawk 10K System1 2 post lift but am now considering a 4 post lift so I can move it into a corner if I need extra space in the building. My question is: what 4 post would be comparable to the Mohawk 2 post lift? I like the specs on Mohawks - steel thickness, working mechanisms, safety specs etc. Any thought would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Jim

Nor would a four post NEED to be as thick as a two post because obviously there are twice as many 'legs' supporting it. I'd also like to pinto out that you should be somewhat realistic about what you might put up there. My 4 post can hold 10,000#, my car only weighs a little over 3,000#. Not saying to cut corners but unless you are working on a BIG rig you don;t need 20,000# worth of lift.

Thank you for the replies. I've given it a lot of thought and am now leaning back towards the Mohawk 2 post. The building is complete and the floor is being poured next week. As soon as I can drive on it, I'm going to load it up with the cars, truck and tractors and decide if/where a 2 post will fit.
thanks again
