So I have had my MaxJax MX-6 lift up & running now for the past 2 weekends.
What a nice addition to the garage. Seriously saves on time & my back. Should have bought one years ago.
I've read a lot about chattering & the cat additive but was never concerned. This past weekend I experienced what I believe to be and was referred to as this chattering. During a lift things got really noisy, kind of like a howling dog or animal. I noticed the cylinder was vibrating rapidly when the noise was present, & soon as the noise stopped the cylinder stopped vibrating. Was vibrating kind of like a tuning fork, for lack of a better description. It did not do this for the entire lift, only at about the halfway point. Lift is working fine otherwise. I was trying to confirm this condition as chattering. Is this in fact a condition of chattering that was mentioned by other lift owners?
I found this article about hydraulic cylinder squeel & found it worth passing along. It mentions "Air-Release additive" towards the end of the article. Air release additive? Really? An interesting read.
