Lift Fan

So, I got tired of sweating while working around my lift. I found that any type of fan I used just ended up in the way at some point. Decided to add this MOD as a lift accessory.
Depending on the type of work I was doing I knew I would need to have a versatile design. I had a few of these very strong magnets I picked up from Tractor Supply. I added a simple crossbar to give it better stability with the fan on. With 4 of these magnets rated to hold 65lb each, I figured they would hold the 26lb fan with lots of safety margin even with the force of the fan on high.
I'm able to place the fan anywhere on either column for up or down work. This simple addition exceeded my expectations.
BTW, safety cable comes with this particular fan. I added the eye bolts ends.

Hap, it is awesome.

i have two questions and how did you make it?
1. where is the power of fan coming from? from lift itself (connect with power control unit) or you connect with external power source?
2. is the fan REALLY working when you are under a vehicle?

looks like he has some 120 plugs attached to the lift there...

James, I just move the fan to a lower position and point it up when working under a vehicle. As for the outlets, they are off of the lift power and have a built in 15 amp breaker.

Well done.
Remember, in a case like this, it is not speed but volume.
So a large, slow moving, fan may be better than a small, fast, one

I like to have options for whatever the situation demands. Its hard to see, but I do have a 10' Big *** Fan in the middle of my shop (upper right corner of pic).
