I am lift shopping for my new 36' x 50' space and would like something that will support hobbyist automotive work as well capable of lifting a motorcycle somehow to ease servicing. For exmaple, one of my Buell's requires practically removing the engine in order to adjust valves. I'm hoping that there are standard attachments that can be used, perhaps a platform that can be installed over a 2-post lift's arms or something... or maybe not.

I use a pulley winch with a strap for the motorcycles. I booked it to the Ridgeline rafter on the ceiling. It is very cheap ($100 at HF)and easy and adds a lot of confidence when even doing simple tire changes there no fear of it topping over.

I’ve done the strap and hoist for many jobs, but more interested in seeing if there is way to utilize the 2 post lift for moto work at all.

I have an older Snap On mid rise scissor lift for cars, quads and bikes. Mine is one of the earlier ones that only comes up to about 32 inches but it works great as a bike lift and I’ve done a number of VW and Volvo engine swaps on it.

That's the sort of the functionality I want, but not sure I will achieve with a 2-post lift in my shop. I do not have space for a separate platform lift, unfortunately.

that attaches to my 2 post lift. I ll see if I can dig up that thread

I don't recommend the scissor lifts. I have one and yes it's better than a Jack and stands, but I wish I went with a Max now. They are a pain in the *** to get larger vehicles on because the arms only swing out so far. Tonight I was planning on fixing an exhaust leak on my cousin's car, but had a feeling the lift would be in the way, and it was. No access.

Gotcha. Thanks, guys. Looks like I will probably have to fab an adapter plate for the 2-post like toplessHO. Thanks for all the ideas!
