Lift for jetski+trailer?

Hi all,

We'll be moving into a new place shortly that has a 3-car garage. We've got 3 vehicles, plus a jetski. I'd like to fit everything inside the garage, which means a lift. My preference would be to have the jetski (and its trailer) on the lift.

The trailer is a standard single axle trailer. While not being towed, it has the single "support wheel" under the tongue of the trailer. Are there any lift manufacturers that have an optional add-on accessory to cover a portion of the middle where the support wheel would be?

You could always just get a standard 4 post, and make a removable cross piece that would hold it. As for something made for that purpose, I am not sure

Depending on your tongue weight, which is way less than loaded trailer I'm sure a modified one of these 3K or 6K from any reputable lift manufacturer could be modified with a wheel cup or chock welded on to it.

You can get solid deck inserts for most brands of 4 post lifts that fit between the ramps. They are made to store atv's, snowmobiles, lawn mowers, jetski's etc..

But really you could just use a sliding jack tray like mentioned above and make something to clamp the wheel down to it, or change out the single wheel to a common flat foot support..

I had a jetski when I was 18 and didn't have money for a lift to make room for everything in the garage. My solution was some pullies and rope, cheap and worked good. I put some pullies up in the ceiling trusses and threaded some rope. I backed the trailer under them, lifted the jet ski off the trailer and up to the ceiling and then I made some wood braces that I just slid under the ski to take some of the weight off the ceiling. Then I moved the trailer over a stall and had another pulley that would lift the tongue up to the ceiling. I placed some wood blocks under that back of the trailer for it to pivot on. Then I had a chain to hold the trailer against the wall.

A lift would have been much nicer but I had to do with what I had at the time!

Great... thanks for pointing me in the right direction. Tongue weight is light enough that either the solid inserts or the removable jack trays will be able to handle it.

There are lifts to acomidate this and allow you to put the Trailer on top, the first thing to look at is the outside width of the Trailer. The standard 4-Post Lifts are 75"-82" from outside runway to outside runway and some trailers are 102" wide so beware. Below is a link to a lift specificaly designed for Boat Trailers. If your storing the trailer below it is not an issue.Hope this helps you.
