My garage build is coming along and I am starting to look into what I want to use for epoxy floor. I really like the look of this floor.

I just purchased a two post lift which I am picking up this weekend. My question is, should I install the lift and then a month or so from now (after I finish the electrical and lighting) put down the epoxy floor, or put the lift in after the epoxy floor is down? I would think with the texture of the epoxy floor the lift should go in first but looking for opinions..

thanks much!

I would install the flooring first. That way the epoxy would keep the lift steel from direct contact with the concrete.

I was hoping there would be more discussion on this question, I have the same dilemma.

Why is it a problem with the lift contacting the concrete?

I have heard that it is possible to crack the epoxy coating when drilling the floor to mount the lift on top of the epoxy.

Your flooring is always last.
There is a high likelihood that you will scratch or mar the floor when moving around the heavy steel. Prep the area where the base plates will go and coat right up to it. post installation.
