I have super low ceilings and would like some kind of a lift. I was looking at the max jax but as it turns out that I only have 43" of room above my Camaro (which has a low roof line) and that's with relocating the garage door opener. Can anyone tell me what the height at the first mechanical stop is on the maxjax? I know theres two but obviously I wouldn't be able to utilize the full height of the lift. I was wondering if its even worth it? I was also looking at those quick jacks which seem pretty cool, but on the con side kinda bulky and in the way. Are there anymore options for someone with super low ceilings? Mine is 7'10" which is disappointing.

Before anyone asks, my living room is directly above the garage so I cant really do much to my knowledge to eek out extra height.

I have the Atlas Kwik Bay 7K scissor lift in a bay with 8 ft ceilings. It has an open center so you can access the middle of the vehicle. Thirteen stops starting at 12 inches up to about 39 inches. And, it wasn't recalled twice like the mds-6k I ordered before I got the Atlas. It doesn't need to be bolted down as it has a huge base. We lift our Caravan with it and there is plenty of room underneath to work and still lots of clearance overhead.

If you talk to Danmar, they will advise on a second hole height for the safety. So you would drill a new set of holes and use them at your max lift height.

I thought about that, I will have to talk to them and see if that's an option.

I was also looking away from scissor lifts, then I saw the Bendpak Model: MDS-6K, the max lift height is 44 inches. I think this is a new model.

I feel like they are so bulky. I will have to do more research obviously but as of right now Im leaning more towards the ranger quick jacks as opposed to a scissor lift because they are so much less bulky. The only thing I don't like about the quick jack is I feel like the hydraulic lines laying around will start to annoy me when I hit them when the creeper and stuff. Im sure I could figure out a way to get them out of the way.

Im also looking at the kwik lift. I like the quick lift because if gives the option of doing suspension loaded stuff. The only annoying part is I still have to end up jacking up stuff and using jackstands which is kind of the whole reason to get a lift anyway so I don't have to jack stuff up anymore.

Drill new holes in the MaxJax pillars.

They will probably tell you that's not advised but many people including myself have.

I have drilled two extra sets of holes. One below the factory lowest hole... perfect for changing tires or doing brakes. Then one between the lowest and the highest point. I actually use this more than anything. I hate going ALL the way to the top because the maxjax lifts uneven to begin with which is annoying but because of this it makes a whining noise as the one side is already at the top and the other side is evening it out.

You won't affect the structure of the pillars by drilling holes within reason. Just use common sense and not drill 20 sets of holes...lol

I will say the maxjax has paid for itself many times over so far.

If you have square footage its worth looking at a standard 4 post lift. They dont need as much height clearance and can be significantly cheaper than the low rise 2 posters. Im limited on ceiling height but i don't quite have the floor space so im screwed all round!!
