I just ordered this one last week.
I would like to know what side of the lift do I have to run the wireing to? Planin on runing the wireing before it gets here so I can get it up and running before the installer leaves! hehe

Can't help you directly...but Bend-Pak had the instructions for the 2 lifts I considered on-line as PDF's, when I called them about a different lift that did not have a PDF on-line, they e-mailed me the PDF right away. I would either try the website or call their 800 number, bet they will send you the installation instructions in PDF so you can get started.

Well...

The PDF doesn't tell you what side the power box is on. I think its on the passengers side, not sure. I will call them though.

Tanks anyways guys!

I would THINK the power controls would be on the left side of the lift...otherwise you'd have to walk to the right side of the car to raise and lower it...I've NEVER seen the controls on the right..OK, maybe in England or Australia...

I've see the controls on both sides. At the dealer the lifts were kinda paired together, so the controls were on the left on one and right on the other, so they were next to each other. That make sense?

Hmmmm...never seen 'em like that BUT it would make sense if you have two next to each other to make the wiring easier....the last dealer I worked for had all the controls on the left....

Wiring was easier, and techs usually had 2 lifts each. So, the controls for them were right next to each other. Multitasking at it's finest. :)

Well here is the deal.

I had missed the picture in the PDF showing what side the controls are to be on. They are to be ONLY (for asymmetrical lifts) on the side of the lift the passengers door is on (the vehicle is only to approach the asymmetrical lift from one direction).
I called Bend-Pak and asked a tech there about it and he confirmed this.
Non-asymmetrical Bend-Pak 2Post lifts can have the power module install on ether side.

So if most people have it on the left side (looking at the lift from where the vehicle approaches the lift from) then the asymmetrical lifts controls are on the right.

Good info! Please keep us updated on the progress. I have been thinking about the same model and would love to hear your impressions (and see pictures!).

Thanks

It will be installed tomorrow (11/09/05).

I will post some pictures of it. I will also post some of my garage door that is made to work with a car on a lift. ;)
