anybody know anything about American 2 post lifts????

You talking about "American Made" lifts, or a company called "American"?

There was a company called "All American Lifts" which was the employees of another company that folded. They made lifts for a while, and they also went out of business. Apparently the lifts were pretty decent, but they couldn't afford to get them certified by the ALI (American Lift Institute) and this probably contributed to poor sales, along with a heavily competitive lift market.

The company I remember had decent lifts for the money. Were they top notch? Not for me. Would they lift a vehicle? Yes. Other than that, it's a lift somewhere in the mix with 35 other medium grade lift companies.

would this be the same lifts as "ALM" company? we have those at work theyre OK, whoever installed them put them too close to squeeze between them carrying anything much bigger than a screwdriver or rachet, (like when trying to rotate tires) but not the lifts fault. There are companies that you can get parts from for most brands of lifts and pretty old ones as well...
in the case of my Weaver, (which like yours is no longer made) I was surprised at what was available at places like Motion Industries and a run of the m ill local hydraulic repair shop... just a matter of matching parts up between new and old...
