Hi all, I have seen some people out there with the same problem I am facing, a 15' max roof ridge height (Cook County, IL). The space I have will probably just fit a 24x24 garage (may have to go 22 wide depending on my ability to get variances for my front and side setback distance and a separation variance for less than 10' separation from the house), and I am building this for the sole intention of being able to have a lift for general auto work and to help restore my 72 Challenger. The Mrs. says this will be my garage/workspace for the car (isn't she sweet)
...my question is If I do a reverse gable roof with a scissor truss what would the interior height be at the peak? I have tried looking for a table or something that would tell me the height of the truss' for a given roof pitch (5/12 or 6/12, not sure which is better for a snow area)but I haven't found one yet. That way I could figure what wall height I could have? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!
