Hello
I have an older chain type benwill (tp 7000) (I think) . It is an asymetrical type lift . They were a very popular lift for GM dealerships, so I have heard . I am a bit confused on how to load this truck . The lifting points in the book , show the four leaf spring brackets as the lifting points . If I follow these directions , the arms are extended way out . The truck kind of "seams" a bit unstable .
Does anyone have any experience with this ?
Thank you for any input.

On most pickup trucks i rack them on the frame rail about under the cowl/firewall and then on the rear spring hangers. On some Chevys (You didn't mention what year) you can simply rack all 4 arms on the frame rails, the rear arms will be fairly far forward but there's also not much weight in the rear of a pickup and you should be using a pole jack under the rear anyway for stability.

Yes i use that lift everyday.. you should have a lift adapter that slides over the rear lift pads, that raise it about 6", then you can catch that rear spring hanger like Jkady said,
usually this setup is only for the regular cab trucks as they are shorter, most x cab or crew cab trucks you can have all 4 arms on the frame rails with no adapters..

heres a reg cab 1500 in one of my bays on my lift, but you cant really see the adapter

Who's work is hanging off the bench draining into the pan? Do you guys do the rebuilds in house? Look at all those capillaries or whatever the correct term is.

Hello
Thank you all for the feedback . The truck in question is a 78 cab on a 1980's frame . The first year for the throttle body injection . It is a a 6ft bed , however , the bed is a dump body. The body is , i feel way to heavy for the truck .
Abadwilleys , thank you for the picture .
I lifted the truck a few feet off the ground the other day . I did not like how , when i wiggled it , it did not seem "in balance" . I lifted it by all four leaf spring purchases .
I do have the risers for the lift and was using two of them in the back .
I have lifted small trailers , volkswagons and Hondas on this lift . I am always a bit cautious when i use it . This is the biggest vehicle so far .
Jkady i think a post under the rear will be a good idea .

Well OK !
Just lifted it up again . I appears when I wiggle it (just a little bit) here is what is going on .
The shocks and springs are shot . The body is loosy goosey. So the whole trucks move quite a bit more than a "normal" car .
I am a bit nervous with heavy stuff over my head !
