liftmaster 3800 problem

Just installed 3800 liftmaster have a problem door not closing all the way.I have reset door closing 4 or 5 times it will close when I push purple button and rest it with remote but when I cycle it with remote it will not go all the way down.It is not binding and slows down like it should before closing.I need some help I thinkit must be in programing of unit.

When you push the purple button, are you doing a complete close and then open cycle to set the preload? If you can, try adding a little of your weight to the top of the door while doing the reset by pushing down on the door while you are up on the ladder.

If that doesn't work, give them a call as customer service is great. I had a bad tension sensor and they overnighted me one that we installed the next morning.

You should not have to push down on the door when programming the force and the open and close limits. Either you are not programming it correctly or there is a problem with the absolute encoder which controls the door position.
