Pro installed, has worked great since February or so for what little it was used. I insulated, hung drywall, painted, etc and had to relocate the sensor wires.

After that it quit working. I thought I must have screwed up and put a staple through a sensor wire or something, but following the procedure in the manual and putting the sensor wires under a microscope, I can't find any problems there.

When I try to use it, the motor hums, and then dies before the door moves.

The diagnostic light flashes 5 times, which the manual says " unplug motor to reset. try to operate motor, check diag code. If it is still flashing 5 times and the motor moves 6-8", replace rpm sensor. If motor does not operate, motor is overheated, wait 30 minutes and try again. If it still does not operate, change the logic board".

The door doesn't move at all, and I can let it sit 30 minutes or 8 hours with the same result (nothing) so I'm thinking logic board??? sound right??

It's less than a year old:(

Is Chamberlain's warranty worth the paper it's written on?
Is it worthwhile to call, or a waste of time?
Are they going to want the entire motor back or can they just send me a board and I can put it in myself? I didn't install the opener and to be honest don't know a whole heck of a lot about it, other than what the manual says.

BTW I started to register the product and then noticed the reg. card and website info said "warranty is not diminished by not registering", and the registration info they were collecting appeared to be just personal info to sell to third parties....no thanks...

I'm starting to think I should have stayed with manual operation, instead of using this
gizmo :(

thanks

Geez......calm down, give them a call and see what they say, they can probably walk you throught the diagnosis over the phone. I've never heard of anyone having a rough time with the Liftmaster folks.

I just had one of these installed a couple months ago. The thing I noticed was that there seems to be another sensor that flips out like the keypad covers you usually install outside. Check that and make sure that all the wires are connected under the panel on the opener itself.
I believe most of these have a lock on them also. If the lock is closed and does not release before trying to open, maybe that could have somethind to do with it.
