I am installing a second litfmaster 3800, the first went in easy, no problems. the second seams to be fighting me everystep of the way or maybee I am having one of those days when i cant seam to do anything right!

finally got it up and programed, but when i operate it, it wobles or moves as it opperates, dont see how I could have it on the shaft crooked, but I guess thats possible. before I spend hours chasing it i thought I wouldd ask here first. I hope the main spring shaft on the door is not bent, but that is my fear.

could the collar be clammed crooked?
* I locked the collar on the unit
* Slid the unit on the shaft
* snugged the collar on the shaft
* bolted the bracket to the wall
* torqued the collar bolts to 12 ft pounds

seams simple, and was on the first one I did. this one the whole opener seams to be moving a good 1/4" each way while it is running.

any thoughts before I take it down and put a dial indicator on the door shaft?

It's possible to get the opener on the shaft crooked if the shaft happens to be a little small. Put a level on the shaft and then on the side or top of the opener and see if their square with each other.

I don't see how that could be an issue... I would suspect a bent shaft on the door, or a bent shaft in the opener.

Take the opener off the shaft/wall and operate it manually (pull emergency release). See if the collar/shaft on the unit moves wierdly.

Also look at the door run it up and down, can you see the end of the shaft moving/bent?

When I installed mine, I left the screws loose on the bracket that holds it to the wall while I was programing it but forgot to tighten them until I saw the unit moving.

So what was the problem?
