Liftmaster 3800 remote light staying on

I installed 2 Liftmaster 3800's a few weeks ago, but the remote light on one of them will often stay on indefinitely. The only way to turn it off is to cut power to the opener and light for a few seconds. Any idea why, or what's wrong?

I'm using the motion detector feature, which is really handy, if it works. If it just stays on all the time, it's fairly worthless. When I'm not in the garage, nothing is moving that would trip the motion sensor.

Bad motion detector? I had an issue with the thermometer on mine and called Lift Master, they sent me a new control pad right away, no questions asked. Probably worth a call.

May need a new wall control. Call LM tech support and see if they can help you.

make sure you haven't enabled the "leave light on" mode, easy to do with the LM control panel.

do you have 2 smartwall modules, or 1? if 2 that could be the culprit, or you have a defective wall unit...they will send you one free if you call and give your serial #...I just got a replacement for one that wouldn't even light up...if you have 3 flashes of the light try reversing the 2 wires behind the wall unit; to verify the problem is not at the motor simply short the red and white wires to operate the motor.

Do any of you have a number for Liftmaster tech support? All I could find was a web form, my submission of which has not yet generated a response.
