Liftmaster 8500 Ceiling Clearance Question

I am considering adding a replacement door opener to my existing garage door. I picked up a Liftmaster for the door today, and when I got home, I started thinking that the torsion bar is set too close to the ceiling for the installation. Can anyone tell me the part number that I am going to need to do this installation? The drum appears to be almost touching the ceiling. Can the torsion bar be lowered, or what would be the best solution to this issue? Thanks, Junk

The manual should have all the measurements for minimum clearance if you aren't sure

I removed the overhead clearance problem. I had a local roll-up-door company replace the sectional door. I could not be happier.

my installer made up a length of chain to suit the dimensions necessary
similar to wssix99 but not a kit.

I got up there today and looked over the situation closely, and I believe that the mounts that the torsion bar go through can be rotated 180 degrees and then bolted back onto the horizontal brace. Now, I need to find a door installer to do this for me. I am not brave enough to deal with the torsion bar springs to unwind them and then have to wind them once the bar is moved lower. Many decades ago as an EMT I had a call for a man that was thrown off of a ladder. When we arrived, he had a bad gash on his head, a broken jaw, and a few missing teeth. He was attempting to adjust the torsion bar springs and didn't have the experience necessary. I am old enough to know that there are some things best left to the professionals.
