Hung 2 today, didn't think to measure. If space is an issue, the 1" torsion shaft can slide in the opener a few inches. In some instances you can mount the opener to the shaft and slide it over far enough to mount the bracket to the same back jambing as the tracks.
yea that's pretty tight, you could slide the collar on and then the opener. possibly cut the other protruding piece off that you wont be using. not sure how to word it but the opener is able to mount to either side so it has "shafts" coming out both sides, just trim the other side off. save some room then slide the opener over. looks like you have enough material to lag the bracket into.
