Liftmaster 8500 won't open

So I have been an avid reader of Garage Journal for quite some time. Taking my first step in creating a useful 2 car garage. My garage door opener started acting up so I made the jump to the 8500. Ran new electrical and got everything hooked up today. When I go to program the limits and attempt to open it buzzes for 2-3 seconds and does not open. It's not attempting to spin the shaft, and I tried going to the force setting. No luck.

Any ideas?

How many times does the light flash? 10 times = safety eyes not functioning correctly. Ask me how I know...

Alrighty..so what I thought was activating/deactivating on the emergency pull was not. Mine was sort of jammed so I loosened and deactivated it. It works! Now in order for it to go down I have to hold up that tension sensor, and when I do that it it closes then automatically opens. Going to try and move it around to see how to get it to work. Any other tips?

And my light flashes 9 times now which means the tension thing.
