I just installed a Liftmaster 8500 door opener. I love the door opener, but I'm having issues with the light. Sometimes it stays on after I close the door for long periods of time and when I just have the door open it stays on seems like all the time. Once, I closed the door and the next day when I went out to the garage the light was still on. Anyone else have this problem?

Your owners manual will have all the details about the motion sensor, entry sensor, and, light timer inside. These settings can be modified from the wall station by selecting "Menu".

Have you tried reprogramming the light? Also are you using CFL's in the light. I had a time when my light would do as you are describing and I think the problem was I had some cheap CFL's that were interfering with the signals. I changed the bulbs and have had no real problems since.

I'll try unplugging it. I am using LED bulbs in it. I wouldn't think that would affect it, but what do I know.

I've had both remote lights stay on at the same time, so I am thinking there had to be signal interference. The problem I now have since the weather got cold in mid November is that the motion sensor is not working at all for both wall panels. Didn't think temperature could affect the motion sensor but for some reason both are not functioning properly. I don't see any adjustment for the motion sensor. Am I missing something?

What happens when you turn the lights off at the remote panel? Only issue I've had is it turning on when I'm working in the garage

Mine acts weird every so often. Not sure if it's the CFL. I'll be interested to hear if it helps
