Single 8’x7’ door.

Recently got a quote of $1,590 installed total with taxes etc.
$800 was for the opener installed itself, makes sense since $550-600 everywhere for just the 8500w so $200-$250 for installation and taxes seems about right?

But the $790 to just raise the already existing track, does that seem about right? Newer construction so not a mess to update everything, seems a bit much for the track, 25,000 cycle spring upgrade, and labor?

Maybe that’s the going rate, educate me?!?

That seems high. I got two 9' doors done with raised track and 8500s for that price. Granted, this was 3 years ago before the whole world went nuts, but that seems too high.

edit: To clarify, I didn't need new springs so you can factor that in. But springs are the cheapest part of the whole deal.

Maybe it's a bit high, but I don't think it's that far off.

I have the same size door. Back in 2017 I paid $600 for the purchase and installation of my 8500.
I paid them an additional $600 two months later to purchase and install the raised track, which in my case involved complete reconstruction all of the track above the top of the garage door in order to follow the contour of my A-frame roof.

By my observations everything in the world has just increased by about 20% in the last two years, so I would expect my $1200 job would cost around $1440 today. (I'm not crazy about it but it is what it is.)

This isn't what happens. If you are moving from a standard system to a torsion system for the opener, you will need all new track, springs, the torsion bar, bearings, etc. There are many more parts than just the opener.
