Liftmaster alternate install

So I am looking at the liftmaster 8500 to eliminate the regular opener. My issue is that I have a man door right next to the overhead door and I believe that the opener would hang down and interfere with it. I saw that they have an available alternate install kit to lower the unit but could that same kit be used to raise the unit as well??

If I'm not mistaken, I believe they can be installed on either side of the door.

I have seen them in a 3 door install with a long driveshaft that bridges over a door to get to the middle door.
You may be able to do the same with you man door.

Yeah but the bozo's that built my house figured it was a good idea to put the overhead door 3" out of one corner. The man door is 12" out of the corner...go figure.

found a review on amazon with a pic showing it installed to raise it so it should work.
