I'd like to install one of these, but I'm curious as to how secure they are. I keep my roll up doors locked on the outside and inside, plus I park things in the way of the door to make it so people can't just roll my **** out easier.

I would be more concerned about posting every aspect of your shop and property online as you seem to do daily!?

Liftmaster has an accessory lock. It looks like it's basically an automated deadbolt that sticks into the rail. https://www.liftmaster.com/garage-door-lock/p/841LM
When my door was installed with a Liftmaster opener they installed a deadbolt like this as part of the standard install. I think this should be part of any install. It automatically retracts before opening and extends after closing. Without it the door could be pushed up - it would be heavy since the springs wouldn't be helping but it could still be lifted.

I have a Liftmaster side mounted opener with the deadbolt. It works really well and the deadbolt locks automatically as soon as the door closes.

I guess I live where I don't worry much about deadbolting overhead doors very often but if someone wanted to get in, wouldnt they just use a vehicle to push in the door? I have seen my wife do it, its much easier than you'd think. lol

The OP puts a vehicle in the way, I like that.

There are some people on this forum that claim the liftmaster 8500 will open on its own but I've had mine for at least 3 years and have never had that issue. I have the MyQ app and internet gateway so that I can open it with my phone and I also get notified when the door opens. I love it.
Mine does have an automatic deadbolt that goes through the tracks. it came with the opener.

Full insurance coverage for everything followed by quality locks and, at least, one good security system is the best tactic imo. Being secure within reason is what I subscribe to. Beyond that, I begin to feel like the crooks have gotten the better of me.

7 yrs ago my 8500 came w/ the electric deadbolt. I thought it was a standard part because otherwise the only thing keeping the door closed is gravity.

They fixed that problem. Haven’t heard any complaints since.
