Go to Lowes or HD and look at the displays. There is a lot of good information there. I will say, I put a set of 5000k bulbs in our bath and my wife was pissed, it made her face look old and wrinkly she said.
If you want to look like a human under this light, shoot for warmer colors, not more than 4100k.

5K in the shop. Closer to natural sunlight.



5 k here also on the led's natural light is 6,500k for color correctness.

after putting a zillion led bulbs in my garage and house i have learned a lesson. buy samples of each one and try it before buying all of them. 3000k is not the same as 3000k of another brand. i have a 3000k cree and 3000k philips and the cree is much whiter.

when i did the 18 can lights in my mancave in the garage i tried 6 or so different combinations of trim/bulb/led retrofit kits of different looks and color temps.
