Looking at putting up painted metal ceiling and thinking about wiring as I have no experience with this type ceiling. Installer said they would put plastic above so that should take care of moisture barrier and air sealing.
For the electrical I need to wire for lights and probably an outlet for a cord reel - think that's about it. Thinking surface mount electrical boxes. Can I just screw them to the metal or should I go to the trusses? Should I use metal boxes? I am thinking put a threaded PVC conduit end in the back and just run the NM through to protect it from the metal edge. Or I could do a clamp. Prewire would just be to run the cable to the point and leave the ends loose to poke through after the metal is in place.
Thinking outlets for the lights. 30 x 40 with 14' ceilings.
How many outlets or what spacing?
Tell me how you would do it and what I should think about doing differently than I have planned.
