Hey guys, im looking for some guidance on how to install a large lighting fixture in a public space.
I have what I think is the best route but would like to confirm it with someone who is familiar with rigging.
The light being hung:
_ 48" wide x 124" long x 2" tall aluminum channel frame (+ 60" of dangling LEDs)
_ frame weight is approx 125-150lbs
_ 6 attachment points (each corner + one on edge in middle of 124" length)
note: the frame flexes due to length and channel being run open side up, so I need 6 attachment points.
Building/ framing to be hung from:
100+ yr old building recently remolded
_ Triangulated A-frame using 4"x4"x1/4" angle iron matted together for a T
_ No other significant structure for me to tie into
The span between A-frames is ~20'
The floor to A-frame height is 19' 6"
Orange box = aluminum frame
blue lines= legs from parallel lines ~4'6"
red lines = parallel lines + support lines
black = A-frames

My initial idea is to suspend the piece on 2 wires that run from A-frame to A-frame parallel to the ground. Then run 6 legs down to each connection point of the frame, perpendicular to the 2 lines above. Reinforce with triangulated wires running to middle of 20' span (parallel lines)
_ Im planning on using 7x19 or 1x19 wire rope @ 1/8" or 3/16" wire rated for 1700+ lbs breaking strength.
_ Also using Gripple or similar slide lock hardware to secure the wire with triple clips where necessary. Rated for 150-450lbs loads at angle.
Anything jump out right away? Any way to simplify my number of connections?
