light layout question 16x26

ive got a garage with cathedral ceilings ceiing is 14 ft high in center and 8ft high on walls im trying to figure out how many fixtures to use this is mainly a detail shop im thinking 8 8ft 2 tube t8 lights the front and rear ones will be on seperate switch

You will get lots of light like that, but I would almost try and put 16 4' lights vertical on the slope so it is kind of shooting across the garage, might get less shadows.

But how you have it will certainly make it very bright in there. I would use fixtures with 4' tubes over 8', simply for the ease of transporting a 4' tube over a 8' tube.

I have a 16 X 24 garage with ten ft walls, scissor trusses and a 16 ft peak. I went with 6- 4ft two tube T8 fixtures, and ran them on the slope of the trusses, spaced evenly, three fixtures per side. Very nice, even, bright light, no shadows. I am quite pleased with the lighting.

I'd love to see a picture too. Sounds like what I had described, but I have never actually seen an install like that. As it's not a typical ceiling to have around here in a garage or shop.

Here it is.. not the best pic but you get the idea. It is a "car garage" and will have a lift so I like the light and how it falls.
