I'm fortunate enough to have a rack in my garage. Greasing the vintage cars the other day, I was becoming increasingly frustrated holding a flashlight and trying to grease at the same time. I tried one of those headband LED deals, but the light wasn't strong enough. So, rather than just get pissed off, I developed what I feel is a good solution. What do you think? Collapses for storage, too.

This might be one of those applications that justifies the really expensive LED replacements. Those probably won't break if a wrench falls on them from a couple of feet, and even if there is damage, it's nontoxic...

Thanks. I was thinking about a lens this morning. Should be easy enough to make one and worth the safety, I'll do it.

I had this four foot fixture laying around and was thinking how could I mount it on a stand. After surfing a bit, I went to Harbor Freight and found this. So I went to the local store and got it for $11.99 with my 20% coupon. Not bad!

Mine is vertical.
Just to be easier to store.
I never thought of making it tip up.
Now I have something to think about.

I've used the 4' fixtures in many strange ways but have not actually bolted it to anything cool like that, nice idea.

Hey question for you, by the way I really like the stand you have your grinder on, the right side of that grinder, it looks like a drill chuck coming off the shaft?

Am I seeing that right? How did you do that? Another clever idea!

Mm

You're seeing right and I owe that to my dad. When he died in 2003 I took his grinder over mine. The chuck with the polishing wheel was on his. It is clever and even out that distance from the grinder spins without vibration.
