Light wiring question

I am installing 20 four foot light fixtures on two circuits in a 36 X 20 shop with 11 foot 4 inch walls. I have done quit a bit of household wiring but have never used conduit before. I have metal ceilings in the new shop and will be using conduit. I know I will have to practice bending. My question is do I need to pull a ground wire to each light and switch? I want to do it right even though it is not subject to inspection.

Alternately you could use the metal conduit as ground as long as it is tied back to ground on the breaker box and to the ground terminal on the fixture and switches.

However, it is not that big a deal to just run a dedicated ground wire through the conduit.

If this is a residence, then he cant operate the fixtures on 240v as code only allows lights to be run on 120v in a residence.

That article is poorly written and theres some incorrect info like 227v and "EGCs are for providing a low impedance path to earth." No, EGCs provide a low impedance fault-current path so a high current can flow and trip the overcurrent device! Earth grounding is SOLELY for grounding out lightning strikes! EGCs and grounding electrodes serve different purposes! People get these 2 concepts mixed up ALL the time

If you run a ground wire bond it in each metal box it goes through.

Actually, you could use the metal conduit as ground as long as it is tied back to ground, But be careful when doing do it. You must try to use a Electrical Enclosure for your protection.
