Gents,

I am building a pole barn for a hangar/farm workshop. The eve height will be 14'8"... I am going to the restore and shopping around for bargins, but I don't want to sacrifice on good light to save a little money... if that makes sense.

I used an online calculator that said 19 4 x 32 watt T-8 fixtures would give me 3100ish lumens...which is supposed to be the right light for working on projects...price in fixtures and bulbs at HD = $1800ish.

Question: At that height do I need that special "high bay" lighting in the shop? I'm good on the office area, just never planned or installed anything up that high.

Thanks,
Shaun

Shaun, there is a thread on here that a guy installed 106v CFL with simple fixtures and shilds. Remember he got them from 1000bulbs.com It was amazing how much light they put out. I am using the same idea and should have the bulbs in by next week. I can't locat the thread but maybe someone else can help.
