Lighting circuit termination question

Can I leave a powered wire not hooked up to anything in the attic if in a junction box for later use?

The ends need wire nuts and if it's a metal box, that grounded.

Sure can. Terminate the ends, and label the junction box accordingly, for future reference.

Its a plastic box. I need to add the wire nuts, I just left the wire, cut the end and called it a day, but needed the other lights on the circuit after I stopped working. Thanks fort the reply
