Hey all,

I will have my concrete and doors done by the end of the week so it's time to start working on the inside! I am looking to light it with something fairly reasonable and simple. I was thinking 4' LED shop lights? Is there a better option. I am going to use the shop for storage and working on cars and such. It is 28 x 32 x 10. I am not too sure what number look or 4k vs 5k or anything either if anyone has some input on that as well.

Love these from Shine Retrofits. Buy more than you think you need.

Maxlite LSS2XT8USE4803 75303 2 Lamp T8 LED Tube Ready 4 ft Linear Utility Strip Light Fixture Pre-Wired
SKU: LSS2XT8USE4803

And the bulb of your choice. I went with these. Two per fixture.

I have looked into that thread a bit. They seem like a nice setup, Rough math would have them around 30 bucks per light maybe a bit north depending on where I order and all. Is there an advantage to these compared to an integrated LED model? Has anyone had success with some of the cheaper options? I saw Sunco brand on amazon with 12 lights around 220. If it isn’t worth the option I would obviously spend the money on something nicer.

I chose to put switch controlled receptacles in the garage and plug the lights into them.

I used inexpensive big box store shop lights because they were well within my budget and the savings gave me more to spend on tools and equipment.

I have seen guys take the 2X4 fluorescent fixtures removed from retrofitted office buildings and use them in their workshops. They were plenty good enough for using just a few hours a day or on weekends.

IMHO, all garage workshops are "works in progress" and proceed as time and money allow.

In today's mail, COSTCO has 4600 Lumen LED Shop Lights with a remote control and motion sensor for $19.99. There is a limit of 5, so you might want to take a buddy with you to buy more if you need them.

Long story short I weighed a bunch of options then ended up ordering 12 4’ Sunco brand LED lights from amazon for $220

Naturally this leads to the next question. I really really want the wall mount openers. They are literally. Double the cost of chain drive. If I do chain drive what are the more popular lighting layouts. To get around these to long units in. The center of both bays
