I had what I thought was a bad ballast in one of my lights but now I'm not sure. I'm an no electrical guru which is why I'm asking this question. I had one light that stopped working so I figured it was just the ballast, so I swapped it out and as soon as I turned the lights back on another one quit working. I have 6 8ft T8 lights all wired to one switch, could I have hooked something up wrong or is this just coincidence, I certainly don't want to be chasing this around the shop. Anyone have any ideas I could be looking at?

Are the grounds hooked to the grounding screw in the fixtures? Is the ground good? This can cause problems.

I didn't believe that grounds could cause a problem till I saw if with my own eyes. GF worked in a mall court food place. They had two lights in the kitchen that would not work. I found a "help sheet" as a tear off on the shelf at Home Depot at the ballast shelf in lighting. First thing it said to do was ensure good grounds. I opened up the fixtures, removed the screw, scraped off the white paint with my pocket knife and reinstalled the screw good and tight, and the lights worked when I started them up
