Ok Gang -
.....so I got a bunch of these cheap Commercial Electric insulation rated/air tight recessed ltg cans (high hats?) at about $4.50 apiece. The inside of the lights have a "rating" sticker that says:
MAX 40W Type/TIPOA19
MAX 65W Type/TIPOBR30
MAX 75W Type/TIPO R30/PAR30/PAR30L
MAX 120W TYpe/TIPO BR30
MAX 150W Type/TIPO R40/PAR38
I have three separate branch ckt strings. See Pxs
String 1 illuminates the 01 flat, comprised of 18 ltg fixtures, spaced about 2-feet apart and intended for gen illumination of a storage space.
String 2 illuminates the aft main deck, comprised of 13 ltg fixtures, spaced about 2-feet apart and intended to provide general navigation (walking) illumination of the aft main deck area
String 3 illuminates the aft main deck area, comprised of 10 ltg fixtures, spaced about 1-foot apart and intended to sit over a workbench and provide working illumination (I have CSS and need much light)
Question: What lamp rating would you use to determine conductor size?
I based the design on the 75 Watt that computes to 14 AWG /15A OCP - however, if I later use anything larger, particularly for the 18 string ckt, then I'm out of bounds.
What will the building inspector say/invoke - or will he/she not care since they only look at cond size/ocp protection?
