Lighting on your back!

For those of you who do most of your work on your back with the car up on Jack stands, what kind of under car lighting do you use?

I have the old standby traditional hanging light but I can rarely get it in the right position to cast enough light to really see what I am doing.

Suggestions on a decent solution without spending a small fortune welcome. I assume LED are preferred these days.

An LED headlamp is a great choice, puts the light right where you're looking and right where your hands are...

LED headlamp with a mechanic's light (mine is an old fluorescent light) for fill since the headlamp can cast some NASTY shadows.

I mainly use a makita 18v LED handheld, that also stands on its own, or I can hook it to something.

Then if it's a bigger job, I supplement with a twin-tube 4' florescent (corded) that I slide under the vehicle.

I actually prefer the light quality of florescent over LED. Less shadows, less blinding; more lantern-like light.

LED headlamps are great, I have a couple of them. I also have magnetic work lights that I stick wherever I need to get light.

Thanks all. Much appreciated. Definitely looking for a corded light. The headlamps are great for focused areas but the 4ft lights sound more like what I am looking for.

HF rechargable LED..Braun has a few. I use the underhood and the Flex head with Mag base. it is best for lower work.

Head lamps have different configurations of beam angles. The two I have have flood beams and spread the light out, plus with it being on your head when you move your head the light is always where your looking.

Just a simple flourescent light, corded. The whole light is maybe 15" long, so it fits in reasonably tight places. Has a couple swivel hooks, so it can be hung on something.
I also have a 12v drop light, watertight, that has about a 12'-15' cord with alligator clips, so I can hook it straight to a vehicle's battery, and it will reach anywhere. It, too, has a hook on it.
I have a couple led panel lights, very bright, but short cords, and really only sit on a flat surface, so mostly use them for more general lighting.
Plus, I still have an old school drop light, or two.

I got one of these a few months ago DCL044 20V MAX* LED Hand Held Worklight. Head swivels 360 degrees and tilts 180. Has a pretty powerful magnet on it, forgot I left it attached the front spring on the jeep and did a 10 mile test drive. Also just got 2 of the HF Braun lights that are so popular. Now I know why, really bright and a good price $20 each if you catch a sale.
