Lighting options in a basement garage

Looking at redoing the lights in my garage, I have two challenges:

1. Low (7'-10") ceiling, so I'm looking at making all lights flush with the ceiling.
2. Garage is under living space, so I must maintain a 1-hr fire barrier on the ceiling.

Does anyone know of any options for flush-mount/recessed lighting with a fire barrier rating? I'm open to anything - T5, T8, LED, CFL.

It looks like I can buy a fire barrier and put a fixture in it, but they don't have a lot of options:

Fire barrier boxes are about your only option to do what you want to do. You can do the same thing with fluorescent troffers, too. You just need to make or have made some shallow metal "trays" that fit between your joists to mount them into.

I think you can do the same thing by framing boxes between the joists and finishing the inside of them with 5/8" sheet rock. You'd have to check local code for what is acceptable.

For flush or recess lighting You can frame openings an install 5/8" type X drywall (1 hour rated for 1 layer) in the recess. Then install your fixture of choice in the recess. Make sure the opening is larger than the fixture to allow air flow and heat dissipation.
Fire stop the cable or conduit penetrations with fire caulk.
