As I slowly build out my garage, I've stumbled on some recent products that I'm very happy with in the lighting department.
First up is a standard light bulb replacement. It is a 50W LED with a brightness equivalence of 250W-300W and it did not disappoint in light output. I have four sockets in my garage that I was going to replace with fluorescent fixtures, but I think I'm all set now. It has a built-in fan that is a bit noisy, and can be very noisy for a bit if it's below freezing, but it's fine for the garage. Link:
PacLights Ultra250
Next up are a pair of task lights that play the role of your standard 500W halogen units. The difference with these is that they use 30W per lamp, and they don't burn you when you touch them. Excellent light output compared to similar cheapos, and decent construction for what they are. The twin-heads are removed from the tripod via a plastic wing nut for floor use, but they don't have the range of movement of the single head.
