Lighting Question

I am in the final planning stages of my new garage and after reading a few older threads on the subject, I've come up with some questions regarding the best way to light it.

The garage portion will be 30'x40' with a 12' ceiling height. Garage to be used for vehicle restoration and general maintenance, but it will also serve as a display area for the finished cars so I want to keep things nice and bright in general. The layout is basically a large three bay garage with a lift in the left bay and a work area at the back. I had intended to use T5HO lights in a recessed housing, but after reading some of the comments, T5HO in a 12' ceiling might not be the way to go. If that is the case, are there any thoughts on what I SHOULD use?

Any comments would be greatly appreciated.

Regards,

Stan

No thoughts on the number/type of lights for this garage?

I need lighting for my building. I am wanting to get the round style that they use in industrial buildings and places like lowes and Home Depot. When at the store there is tons of light so I do not think there will be issues with the amount of light. For me it is about the height. I have a fear of heights so I do not want to be 14 ft up in the air changing a 8 ft tube. I want to get up there, screw in the bulb and get back down. There are a couple electrical supply places near where I work, I just need to have the time to check them out.
