Lighting recommendations

Getting ready to build a 30x32 foot shop with 13'ft ceilings.

Trying to plan for the lighting, I'd prefer to go LED.

Looking for advice on how many and what type of lights I should plan on.

Just came from Costco and they have 4' LED on sale for 25.99. I have used these all ready in my garage with 12' ceilings and I like them.

I don't see any 4' LED fixture at Homedepot.com for anywhere near $35. Is this an in store only fixture?

I believe this is probably the fixture. I've never understood why hanging plug in fixtures are available so much cheaper than flush mount fixtures. This one does support flush mounting, but it's still a plug in fixture. It also supports linking multiple fixtures together.

Sam's Club and Costco have similar hanging plugin fixtures cheaper, but I don't think they have the linking feature.

This is the light that I was referring to. The best thing about it is the ability to link multiple lights together.

Thanks for posting that link, I don't know why it didn't show when I searched for it. Now I have to return the ones I bought at Sams Club. That linkable feature is going to make my install so much easer since I'm planning on 3 rows of 9. Too bad they're not as bright as the Sams Club ones and a little more expensive.

I think advertised Lumens are debatable, especially when they're different manufacturers. I've read nothing but good reviews, so hopefully this will do it for you. This is definitely the light I'll be going with!

I just installed (2) of the Lithonia 2ft LED high bay lights (home depot, $199) in my garage and an very happy with them over 11,000 lumens each. I have a big *** light (which is slightly brighter at 13,000 lumens), but these are close and exactly 1/2 the price.

How could you possibly know? Unfortunately, you cant.
The way to figure out how many lights and how to space them is with a computer.

I used my budgetometer. I decided how much money I will willing to spend and divided that by the cost of the fixtures I liked. Easy peasey.
