My shop is 40x60. The walls are 16 ft. I am going with the CFL lighting. How far should they be spaced out?

Thanks Ray

Need a few more hints. What size/type CFL are you using? Will you use reflectors? What is the inside of the building like ie. painted white and highly reflective, or dull and drab and not too reflective.

THIS THREAD BY VENO is probably the best info on doing this, that you will find on this forum.

For the length of my run I spaced the bulbs 5 foot apart (half a stick of conduit) they ended up about 7-8 foot away from the end walls.

Side to side, I split the difference from the cabinets to the center of the garage.

I used the 105 W 400W equivalent bulbs and I love them. I firmly believe that they are the best lighting for the money.

I love 69 chargers
I also love 69 novas/chevelles....................
As far as the lighting goes Id look for some old high bay lights that can be wired for low voltage and try a couple in there up close to ceiling to see how it works,Id temp them in on some sjo cord to find where the lighting works best before piping them in.
