Lighting suggestions: 32x32x10

Hi folks, simply looking for any recommendations on lighting options in this space. General door layout will be two bay, one 16x9 on right and 10x9 on left. This space will be primarily used for auto and boat storage, along with work bench area on back left wall. I’m also considering a hanging propane heat source, but have not dived into grave details yet.

Any tips or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

If you’re sure you’ll never need light for doing work and will just use most of the space for storage, you don’t need very much light. But don’t be tempted to use just one or 2 bright fixtures. You’ll be happier with a greater number of lower lumen fixtures spread evenly.

Just use a few 4 foot tubular shop lights over your workbench and you’ll be able to see what you’re doing.

Buy about 20 LED 4’ shop lights, preferably frosted tube or wrap style and ceiling mounted. I used these:

But others prefer the fluorescent style tube fixtures with replaceable LED tubes, which might be a little cheaper but don’t have the finished look of a lens.

For a shop heater something like a Big Maxx 50k is cheap and works great. I use this is an insulated 750SF with mostly 9.5’ ceiling but some 8’ and some 13’ and like it (we hit -20F last winter and I was as warm as I wanted to be). There are more expensive other brands you can look at also.

My building is 28x32x10. Ceiling is at 10'. Walls and ceiling are plywood painted white. I used 16 4' fixtures w/ 2 led bulbs each. I think that it is plenty bright for doing auto and other type work. I can post a pic if you like.
