Lighting with 12' ceiling height

I am building a new 30x30 garage and wanted to know what options were available for taller heights. I would like to use a low profile light or flush mount light either between the roof trusses or as high up as possible.
I have also thought about using the wave patterned silver tin roofing for under ceiling material in the garage. Are there any concerns for mounting the lights bw the roof trusses or against metal? Thanks

Your garage sounds real close to what I just built. Mine is 32x32 with 12' 6" ceilings. I put in 8 of the 8' 2 tube HO fluorescent that Lowes sells. Originally was going to use 10 but after putting up 8 I have more than enough light. I wired them on four switches so each quadrant can be turned on independently and unless I need it very bright I only turn on opposite corners. Very happy with my setup.

T5 lights are the way to go..a liitle more expensive,but very efficient.I have a 30x40 garage with 12 foot ceilings.I have 4 4 foot fixtures x 6 bulbs in each,and its super bright!!!!

I have a 32x30 with 11' ceilings - I put up 6 of the 4' 6 bulb units and, while more expensive, are very bright and use less electricity than the equivalent T8 or T12's.

I hope this isn't hijacking the thread - I'd like some detail on those T5s:

I'm just finishing a 30 X 40 metal building for a vintage motorcycle restoration work shop (retirement hobby stuff), and had settled on the same general area lighting - (4) 6-tube 4' T5HO lights, two in each half - independently switched. To get the best spread of light, should the fixtures run lengthwise end-to-end spaced evenly in each half of the building, or should they run across the building (still 2 in each half, evenly spaced)? My building has 12' walls with 4-1 sloped roof - I presume different reflectors would want different "ideal" mounting heights? I'd also planned to provide for a few 2-tube work station lights around the mill, welding table, etc that could be relocated if needed as the shop evolves over the years.

Lastly, this forum has been a tremendous help for a newbie - do any of the members deal commercially? I'd like to buy my stuff from the people that have offered their help and advice when I can.
