Lighting

I'm getting a barn soon to use as my small shop, the thing is my dad's helping me buy supplying wood, wiring to build benches and wire everything.. but the first thing I have to buy is the lighting. I'm looking for suggestions for some good lights.. the area will be about 18x30' max..

any help is appreciated.. hopefully this doesn't end up costing wayyy more than I expected..

What is the height you are looking at that the fixtures will hang from? what will you be doing in there? give us something to go on. Is it insulated? will there be a heat problem, cold problem?

High output flourescents. Sart up at nearly any temp, great light.

Not realy cheap either.

Theyll be hanging from about a 9' ceiling, it will probably be cold sometimes.. I'll be doing a variety of things really, mainly during the day but still some at night too of course. Welding, Bodywork, Suspension, some engine work, stereo installs, etc.. just a place for my and friends to work on our trucks.

I know there are better lights out there, but I've been using T-8 two-tube 4 foot shoplights from Home Depot with reasonable success. Make sure you pick one with an electronic ballast. They handle the cold reasonably well. And Florida cold is what New Yorkers call a little bit cool. The ones I got were not more than $20. If you're on a budget, they do the job and you can spend your money on more fun stuff.
