I have a new Cornwell 58" box with canopy that I have moved to my house after switching jobs. However, the lighting in my garage *****, for now. So in order for me to be able to use my toolbox as a work bench, I've had to open my garage door, which gives my neighbors the impression that I am inviting them over to borrow stuff (which I am NOT). So, I've been trying to figure out some type of lighting solution, and then I stumbled on these puck lights at Lowes the other day.

I'm totally pleased with it. I knew from the beginning that I didn't want to drill any holes in my box, so this was my solution. They are halogen lights, which do put out some heat. I worried that the heat would eventually mess with the silicone and the light would fall....so far that hasn't happened.

Total cost for this: about $25 only because I already had the magnets.

a little update on this, I have found no problems with heat issues. I have even left these lights on for days at a time, with no problems.

Thats a pretty good idea. How do you like the Cornwell box?

Great idea! You can also salvage magnets from old speakers or magnetic CB antenna mounts if anyone else wants to try this.
