Hey guys -

Looking for a high quality aluminum floor jack - that is lightweight and can easily be taken in and out of vehicle (I'm thinking 50lbs is MAX). For use primary on the road, and in the pits swapping wheels, etc.

Own a 1.5 HF Aluminum right now. It has held up fine *knock on wood* but not very confidence inspiring. Especially after the jack stand business. Yes- they're cheap - and you can easily buy another with coupon - but that doesn't make up for a possible failure while working on a vehicle.

The floor jack world - is a peculiar one. They all look as though they're same design - just rebranded logos. EX: my garage Arcan low profile jack which is great - looks like its identical to a few other brands. So maybe you guys can enlighten me on this.

All open ears to your guys recommendations.

Thanks!

So assuming all the aluminum floor jacks that look similar to HFs - are really no better. And not worth the extra $

You already have it. I just lifted a GMC Savanna (Front end) and forgot to use a jack stand. Didn't feel much risk.

Yeah, stick with the HF jack if you are looking for a light aluminum jack. I have a big Ranger long reach, low profile that's a tank. It's not very mobile, so I use the same alumnimum HF jack and it works fine. I had to use it a year or so ago when my cousin had a flat along the interstate in a big *** 70's Cadillac... It's never let me down.

HF -1.5 ton at $59 with coupon is the best deal. I have been using them for 10+ years. One failed that I left in the snow all winter.

What about a set of wuickjacks? Not light but you can do more.
